Surah Yasin — Verse 65

Word Meanings:

• نَخْتِمُ عَلَىٰ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ — We seal their mouths, rendering them unable to speak.
• تُكَلِّمُنَا أَيْدِيهِمْ — Their hands will speak to Us, testifying to what they did.
• تَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُمْ — Their feet will bear witness.

Tafsir (Explanation):

On that Day of Judgment, when every soul is called to account, the guilty will try to deny their sins and plead ignorance. But Allah, in His infinite justice and wisdom, will seal their mouths so that no false excuse or denial can escape their lips. Their own bodies will turn against them as witnesses: their hands will speak and testify to every wrongful act they committed, and their feet will bear witness to every path they walked toward sin and disobedience. This is not limited to the hands and feet alone—rather, every limb and organ will testify to what its owner did in this worldly life. The very skin, the eyes, the ears, and all parts of the body will be made to speak by Allah’s command, leaving no room for denial or argument.

This verse is a profound reminder that nothing is hidden from Allah. Every deed, whether public or secret, is recorded and will be brought to light. The One who gave humans the power of speech can just as easily take it away and grant speech to the silent limbs. It is a scene of absolute truth, where all falsehood is stripped away.

How beautiful it would be if your hands and feet testify to good deeds—prayers offered, charity given, kindness shown, and steps taken toward righteousness! Let this reality inspire you to fill your days with actions that will make your limbs speak in your favor. Turn to Allah now, seek His forgiveness, and strive to walk the path of goodness—for on that Day, the truth will speak, and the merciful Lord will reward every sincere effort.
