Word Meanings:

  • Bayḍāʾ (بَيْضَاءَ): White, pure, and radiant in color.
  • Ladhdah (لَذَّةٍ): Delicious, delightful, and pleasurable to taste.
  • Lil-shāribīn (لِلشَّارِبِينَ): For those who drink (it).

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse continues the description of the bliss that awaits the righteous in Paradise. It refers to a pure, white wine that is served to the inhabitants of Paradise from flowing rivers—wine that will never run out or cease. Its whiteness signifies its absolute purity and beauty, untouched by any impurity or flaw. Its taste is described as *ladhdah*, meaning it brings complete and perfect pleasure to those who drink it, with no bitterness, no aftertaste, and no harm whatsoever.

Unlike the wines of this world, which can cause intoxication, cloud the mind, lead to arguments, or bring headaches and regret, this heavenly drink is entirely free from any negative effect. It is a source of pure joy, refreshing the soul and delighting the senses without any downside. The pleasure it brings is not merely physical but also spiritual, as it is a reward from Allah (God) for those who remained patient and obedient in this life.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Imagine a drink so perfect that it brings nothing but happiness—no pain, no regret, no loss of reason. This is just one of the countless blessings Allah has prepared for His righteous servants. It reminds us that the pleasures of this world are temporary and often mixed with harm, but the rewards of the Hereafter are eternal and pure. When you read this verse, let it inspire you to strive for Paradise, to hold firm to your faith, and to remember that every sacrifice you make for Allah’s sake in this life will be repaid with delights beyond your imagination. Allah’s generosity knows no bounds, and His love for His servants is immense. So turn to Him with a sincere heart, and trust that what He has promised is far greater than anything this world can offer.
