Surah An-Nisa — Verse 28

Tafsir (Explanation):

Allah, in His infinite mercy and wisdom, declares that He desires to lighten your burdens and make His commandments easy for you. He does not intend hardship or difficulty for His servants. This verse comes in the context of permissible marriages, including marrying believing slave women when free women cannot be afforded, as a concession to human frailty. Allah knows that human beings were created weak—weak in body, weak in willpower, and weak in resisting temptations and desires. Therefore, He has legislated a practical, merciful path that accommodates this inherent weakness, never commanding what exceeds human capacity. He does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear, and He provides lawful outlets for natural urges and gradual steps for spiritual growth. This reflects His profound knowledge of human nature—both in physical creation and in moral character—and His desire to guide humanity gently toward righteousness without overwhelming them.

When you feel weak, His legislation is your support. This is the beauty of your Creator: He does not push you beyond your limits, but walks with you toward your best self. Embrace His guidance with confidence, for the One who created you knows exactly what you need—and He has made His path gentle for you.
