Tafsir (Explanation):
This verse delivers a profound and reassuring message about divine justice. Allah tells us that every person — whether among the people of good or the people of evil — will have specific ranks and stations on the Day of Judgment, determined precisely by what they did in this life. These are not random or arbitrary; they are perfectly matched to each individual's deeds.
For the people of Paradise, their ranks ascend ever higher — each level reflecting the sincerity, faith, and righteous actions they cultivated in the world. For the people of Hellfire, their stations descend ever lower, corresponding to the sins, disbelief, and wrongdoings they accumulated. No one is placed in a rank except what their deeds truly merit.
Then comes the beautiful promise: Allah will repay them in full for their actions — every good deed accounted for, every effort recognized, every sacrifice honored. And crucially, they will not be wronged in the slightest. No one will have their good deeds diminished, and no one will have their sins inflated beyond what they committed. The scales of Allah are perfect, and His justice is absolute.
This verse fills the believer's heart with hope and motivation. It tells us that nothing we do is ever lost — not a single kind word, not a single prayer, not a single act of charity, not a single moment of patience. Allah sees it all, records it all, and will reward it all in the most complete manner. At the same time, it serves as a gentle warning that our negative actions also carry consequences — but even then, Allah's mercy and justice ensure that no one is treated unfairly.
So let this verse inspire you to race toward good deeds, knowing that your Lord is the Most Just, the Most Appreciative. He does not waste the effort of any doer of good — and His reward is beyond what any mind can imagine. Strive for the highest ranks, for they are within your reach through faith, righteous action, and sincere devotion to Allah.
