Word Meanings:

  • تَهِنُوا (tahinū): To weaken, lose heart, or become faint in resolve.
  • السَّلْمِ (al-salm): Peace, reconciliation, or a truce with the enemy.
  • الْأَعْلَوْنَ (al-a‘lawn): The higher ones, meaning those who are dominant, victorious, and have the upper hand.
  • يَتِرَكُمْ (yatirakum): To diminish, reduce, or deprive you of something in full.

Explanation of the Verse:

O believers who have placed your trust in Allah and His Messenger, do not let weakness creep into your hearts when facing the enemies of this faith. Do not lose courage or shrink back from the struggle that has been ordained for you. And do not be the ones to initiate calls for peace or a truce with the disbelievers while you are in a position of strength and dominance over them. Remember that you are the ones who hold the higher ground—victory is on your side because Allah is with you, granting you His support, aid, and divine assistance. This is a profound glad tiding: that His presence with you guarantees triumph over your adversaries, provided you remain steadfast.

Furthermore, Allah assures you that He will never let your efforts go to waste. He will not reduce the reward of your deeds, nor will He deprive you of the full recompense for your sincerity and sacrifice. Rather, out of His boundless grace and generosity, He will multiply your rewards and bless your endeavors beyond what you can imagine.

So stand firm, dear believers, with unshakable confidence in your Lord. Do not let the whispers of fear or the allure of an easy peace tempt you away from what is right. Your strength lies not in your numbers or weapons alone, but in the certainty that Allah is your Protector and Helper. When you act with faith and courage, He will never abandon you, and your deeds—no matter how small they may seem—will be preserved and honored in full. This is the promise of the Most Merciful, and His promise is ever true. Let this verse fill your hearts with hope and determination, for the path of honor and dignity is the one that leads to His pleasure and eternal success.

📜 Verse 33-37 — Muhammad

O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and do not invalidate your deeds.
Indeed, those who disbelieved and averted [people] from the path of Allah and then died while they were disbelievers - never will Allah forgive them.
So do not weaken and call for peace while you are superior; and Allah is with you and will never deprive you of [the reward of] your deeds.
[This] worldly life is only amusement and diversion. And if you believe and fear Allah, He will give you your rewards and not ask you for your properties.
If He should ask you for them and press you, you would withhold, and He would expose your unwillingness.
