Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- "عَرَّفَهَا لَهُمْ": He made it known to them, identified it for them, and clarified its locations and dwellings for them.
Explanation of the Verse:
After Allah mentions that He will guide the believers who are killed in His cause and set right their condition, He follows with this verse: "And He will admit them into Paradise, which He has made known to them."
This means that Allah, in His infinite mercy and grace, will not only forgive the martyrs and set their affairs right, but He will also grant them the ultimate reward—entry into Paradise. The phrase "made known to them" carries a profound meaning: Allah had already introduced Paradise to them in the life of this world through the descriptions in the Qur'an—its rivers, gardens, palaces, and delights. They believed in it without seeing it, and they strove for it with sincerity. Then, on the Day of Resurrection, when they enter it, Allah will make their specific dwellings and stations within Paradise known to them, so that each believer recognizes their own home as if they had always known it. This is a great honor: the believer is not a stranger in Paradise, but a welcomed resident whose place was prepared and identified for them.
This verse also teaches us that the believer's journey does not end with hardship or sacrifice in this world. On the contrary, every difficulty faced for the sake of Allah is a means of elevation. The one who gives their life in His cause receives the greatest honor: being personally guided by Allah, having their affairs perfected, and being admitted to a Paradise that was described to them and prepared for them.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear Muslim, reflect on the beauty of this promise! Allah did not merely say He would admit them to Paradise—He said He would make it known to them. Imagine the joy of a believer who, after a life of faith and struggle, is shown their eternal home in Paradise and told: "This is yours." This is the reward of those who sacrifice for their Lord. Let this verse inspire you to hold firm to your faith, to strive in the path of Allah with whatever you can offer—whether it be your wealth, your time, or your efforts—and to long for that moment when you will see your home in Paradise, a home that Allah Himself has identified for you. Paradise is real, its rewards are eternal, and its doors are open for those who believe and do righteous deeds. So let your heart yearn for it, and let your deeds speak for you on that Day.
