Surah Muhammad — Verse 7

Word Meanings:

• تَنصُرُوا الله — "You support Allah": meaning you support His religion, His Prophet, and His cause.
• يَنصُرْكُمْ — "He will support you": meaning He will grant you victory over your enemies.
• وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ — "And make firm your footsteps": meaning He will strengthen your stance and keep you steadfast in battle.

Explanation of the Verse:

O you who have truly believed in Allah and His Messenger and acted upon His commandments! If you support the cause of Allah — by striving in His path (jihad), ruling by His Book, obeying His commands, and avoiding what He has forbidden — then Allah will surely support you. He will grant you victory over your enemies and make your feet firm and unshakable when you face them in battle. This is a direct promise from Allah, the Most High, to the believers: that their victory is tied to their support of His religion. The more sincere and devoted you are in aiding His cause, the greater His aid to you will be — both in this life and in the Hereafter.

A Call to the Believers:

This noble verse is a divine call filled with hope and assurance. It reminds every believer that they are never alone in their struggle. When you stand for truth, when you defend the oppressed, when you uphold justice and spread goodness — you are, in essence, supporting Allah’s cause. And the One who controls the heavens and the earth has promised you His support in return. What greater guarantee could there be? So do not fear the might of enemies, nor be disheartened by the challenges of the path. Your strength comes from Allah, and His promise is true. Stand firm, be patient, and trust in Him — for victory belongs to those who support His cause, and His support is near.
