Surah At-Tur — Verse 22

Explanation of the Verse:

In this verse, Allah describes another dimension of the bliss prepared for the righteous in Paradise. He says that He continuously grants them an ever-increasing abundance of fruits and meats — not merely once, but again and again, in a perpetual flow of generosity. The phrase "mimmā yashtahūn" (from what they desire) indicates that whatever they wish for, it is brought to them instantly, even before they ask. Their hearts' cravings are met with perfect satisfaction, and their eyes are delighted with the finest varieties of food and drink.

This is part of the comprehensive joy of Paradise: not only are they safe from punishment and blessed with spiritual rewards, but their physical pleasures are also fulfilled in the most perfect manner. The fruits are of a kind never seen in this world — fresh, beautiful, and endlessly replenished. The meats are of the choicest quality, prepared in ways beyond human imagination. And all of this is given as a pure favor from Allah, not as a result of their deeds alone, but out of His boundless mercy and generosity.
