Surah Al-An'am — Verse 95

Tafsir (Explanation):

Allah, the Exalted, declares that He alone is the One Who splits the grain and the date-stone. When a tiny, seemingly lifeless seed is placed in the earth, He causes it to crack open and sends forth from it a green, living shoot that grows into a plant or a mighty tree. This is a miracle of His power, witnessed by every farmer and gardener, yet how many pause to reflect upon it?

He brings forth the living from the dead: from a drop of semen (which is lifeless), He creates a human being full of life, movement, and spirit. Likewise, from a hard, seemingly inert egg, He brings forth a bird that flies and sings. And He brings forth the dead from the living: from a living human or animal, He extracts semen, eggs, and other substances that have no life in themselves. This cycle of life and death, and death and life, is a continuous sign of His absolute sovereignty over all creation.

This very Allah—the One who performs these magnificent acts of creation and transformation—is your Lord and your God. He alone deserves your worship, your gratitude, and your devotion. Yet, despite witnessing these undeniable signs in the world around you and within your own selves, how is it that you are turned away from this clear truth to worship false idols and lifeless stones? What greater blindness is there than to see the Creator's handiwork everywhere and still deny Him?

O beloved reader, let this verse open your eyes to the majesty of Allah. The seed that splits in the dark soil, the chick that breaks through its shell, the breath of life in every newborn—all of these are not random accidents. They are the deliberate, loving acts of your Creator. He is calling you to know Him, to worship Him alone, and to turn your heart towards Him. Do not let your heart be like a hard, unyielding stone; let it be like the seed that responds to His command and bursts forth with faith and life. Allah is not far from you—He is closer to you than your own jugular vein, and His signs are all around you, inviting you to return to Him.
