📖 English Meaning
We would have invented against Allah a lie if we returned to your religion after Allah had saved us from it. And it is not for us to return to it except that Allah, our Lord, should will. Our Lord has encompassed all things in knowledge. Upon Allah we have relied. Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision."

Explanation of the Verse:

Prophet Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) continued addressing his people with profound sincerity and unwavering faith, saying: "We would be inventing a tremendous lie against Allah if we were to return to your religion after Allah has saved us from it." He was declaring that reverting to shirk (polytheism) and disbelief after having tasted the sweetness of faith and guidance would be the greatest falsehood imaginable — a slander against Allah's mercy and a rejection of His favour.

He then clarified that returning to their false path is not even within their power or choice, except if Allah wills otherwise — meaning that all matters are subject to Allah's will alone. Nothing happens except by His decree, and His knowledge encompasses everything, whether hidden or apparent. Shu'ayb placed his complete trust in Allah, saying: "Upon Allah we rely" — for guidance, protection, and victory.

Finally, seeing that his people persisted in their arrogance and rejection, he turned to Allah in supplication: "Our Lord, judge between us and our people with truth, for You are the best of judges." He left the matter entirely to Allah's justice, knowing that the final decision belongs to Him alone, and that He never wrongs anyone.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

This verse carries timeless lessons for every believer. It teaches us the value of steadfastness upon the truth, even when surrounded by opposition. Shu'ayb's words echo through history as a model of courage and trust in Allah. He did not waver, did not compromise his faith for social acceptance, and did not fear the threats of his people. Instead, he anchored his heart to Allah, placed his reliance on Him, and entrusted the outcome to His perfect justice.

Dear reader, reflect on your own life: How firm are you in your faith when tested? Do you place your trust in Allah as Shu'ayb did? Remember that Allah's knowledge encompasses everything — He sees your struggles, hears your supplications, and knows your sincerity. Turn to Him, rely on Him, and leave your affairs to Him. For indeed, He is the best of judges, and His decision is always just and wise. Let this verse inspire you to hold fast to your faith, no matter the cost, and to always seek Allah's help in every matter.

📜 Verse 87-91 — Al-A'raf

And if there should be a group among you who has believed in that with which I have been sent and a group that has not believed, then be patient until Allah judges between us. And He is the best of judges."
Said the eminent ones who were arrogant among his people, "We will surely evict you, O Shu'ayb, and those who have believed with you from our city, or you must return to our religion." He said, "Even if we were unwilling?"
Said the eminent ones who disbelieved among his people, "If you should follow Shu'ayb, indeed, you would then be losers."
So the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone.
