Word Meanings:

  • Al-Hudā (الْهُدَىٰ): The guidance — referring to the Qur'an, which guides to the straight path.
  • Āmannā bihī (آمَنَّا بِهِ): We believed in it — we affirmed its truth and accepted it wholeheartedly.
  • Bakhs (بَخْسًا): Diminution or reduction — a decrease in one's good deeds or rewards.
  • Rahaq (رَهَقًا): Oppression or injustice — the burden of wrongdoing or being treated unfairly.

Explanation of the Verse:

In this noble verse, the jinn continue their testimony, saying: "And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it." The guidance referred to here is the Qur'an — the divine revelation that leads to the truth and the straight path. Upon hearing it, the jinn recognized its profound truth and its call to monotheism, so they embraced it with sincere faith.

Then the verse delivers a powerful reassurance: "So whoever believes in his Lord will not fear loss or injustice." This means that the one who truly believes in Allah — affirming His oneness, worshipping Him alone, and following His guidance — has nothing to fear regarding the outcome of their deeds. They will not suffer any reduction in their good deeds, nor will any injustice be done to them by adding to their sins or punishing them without right. Allah, in His perfect justice and mercy, will fully reward every good act and will never wrong anyone in the slightest.

This is a profound comfort for every believer: faith in Allah brings security — security from loss, from oppression, and from the fear that one's efforts might go in vain. The believer's account is safe in the hands of the Most Just, who never diminishes a single good deed and never burdens a soul beyond what it deserves.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, ponder this beautiful reassurance from the Qur'an. The jinn — beings created from fire — recognized the truth when they heard it and submitted to their Lord. They understood that faith brings peace and security. How much more should we, as human beings endowed with intellect and reason, hasten to embrace this guidance?

The Qur'an is the light that illuminates the path of life. Whoever holds fast to it and believes in Allah with sincerity will find that their worries about the future — whether in this world or the Hereafter — are replaced with tranquility. No good deed is ever lost, and no injustice will ever touch the believer. Allah's promise is true, and His justice is perfect.

So, open your heart to this divine guidance, and let your faith be a source of strength and serenity. The One who created you knows your struggles, values your efforts, and will reward you generously. Believe in Him, and you will never fear loss — for His mercy encompasses all, and His justice protects all.

📜 Verse 11-15 — Surah Al-Jinn

And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways.
And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight.
And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden.
And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course.
But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.'
