Surah An-Naba — Verse 39

Tafsir (Explanation):

That Day—the Day of Resurrection—is the absolute truth, a reality so certain that no doubt can touch it. It is not a myth or a distant possibility; it is the inevitable appointment that every soul will face. On that Day, all accounts will be settled, and every deed, whether great or small, will be brought to light.

Since this Day is undeniably coming, the verse extends a profound and merciful invitation: "So whoever wills, let him take a path of return to his Lord." This means that the door is wide open for every human being, right now, in this life, to turn back to Allah. The path is not blocked, and the way is not hidden—it is paved with sincere faith, righteous actions, and repentance. Whoever chooses to walk this path will find a safe refuge with their Lord on that terrifying Day, a shelter from its horrors and a gateway to eternal bliss.

This is a call of love and hope: Allah, in His infinite mercy, does not force anyone to believe, but He lovingly opens the door and says, "The choice is yours." He has already shown you the truth, sent you the guidance, and made the path clear. So seize this opportunity before the Day arrives, for on that Day, no intercession will benefit except for those whom the Most Merciful permits, and no excuse will be accepted. Make your return to Him now, through prayer, charity, kindness, and obedience—so that when you stand before Him, you stand in peace, not in regret.

He is not asking you to be perfect; He is asking you to turn to Him, to take even one sincere step toward Him. The path to Allah is not reserved for the elite—it is open to every soul that breathes. So do not delay, do not let Shaytan whisper that you have too many sins or that you are not worthy. Your Lord is the Most Merciful, and He awaits your return with open arms. Take that step today, and you will find that He has already prepared for you a reward beyond your imagination—a peace in this life and a paradise in the next. Choose your refuge now, before the Day when no choice remains.
