Tafsir (Explanation):
O Messenger, recite to these disbelievers of Makkah the story of Prophet Nuh (Noah), peace be upon him, for in it lies a profound lesson. When his people rejected him and persisted in their disbelief, Nuh addressed them with remarkable courage and clarity, saying: "O my people! If my staying among you for a long time has become burdensome to you, and if my reminding you of Allah's signs and warnings has grown heavy upon your hearts, then know that I do not depend on you or your acceptance. I have placed my complete trust in Allah alone. So gather all your resolve, unite your plans, and even call upon your false gods and partners to assist you. Do not let your scheme against me remain hidden or unclear—bring it out into the open. Then execute your plan against me without any delay, and do not grant me even a moment of respite."
This statement reflects the peak of a believer's certainty and reliance upon Allah. Nuh was not threatening his people with worldly power or seeking to intimidate them; rather, he was demonstrating that a true servant of Allah fears none but his Creator. When a believer's heart is firmly anchored in Allah, the plots of the entire world become insignificant. Nuh's challenge was not born of arrogance but of unshakable faith—he knew that Allah protects His righteous servants and that no scheme succeeds against the will of Allah.
In this verse, there is a powerful lesson for every Muslim: when you stand for the truth, do not fear the opposition of people. Let your trust in Allah be so complete that even if the whole world unites against you, your heart remains tranquil. And know that Allah's promise to support His believing servants is true—just as He saved Nuh and his followers while drowning the disbelievers, He will always make a way out for those who sincerely rely upon Him. This is the beauty of Islam: it teaches us to be bold in truth, patient in adversity, and utterly dependent on Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Powerful.
