Explanation of the Verse:
Despite the clear miracles and undeniable proofs that Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) brought—signs that should have opened every heart—only a small group of young people from his own nation, the Children of Israel, believed in him. They were not the powerful or the influential; they were the youth, the next generation, who had the courage to embrace the truth. Yet their faith was not without fear. They lived in constant dread of Pharaoh and his chiefs, as well as the leaders among their own people who were loyal to Pharaoh, lest these tyrants torture them, persecute them, and try to force them to abandon their religion.
The verse then reveals the true nature of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exalted himself with immense arrogance and pride throughout the land of Egypt. He considered himself above everyone, and his heart was filled with transgression. He was among the worst of those who exceed all bounds—not only in his claim to divinity but in his cruelty, his oppression, and his relentless persecution of the believers.
A Message of Reflection and Encouragement:
This verse carries a profound lesson for every believer. The path of truth has never been easy, and those who follow it are often a minority, surrounded by hostile powers. Yet the youth of Moses' nation teach us that faith is not measured by numbers or strength, but by sincerity and steadfastness. They believed despite their fear, and Allah honored them for it. If you find yourself standing alone for the truth, take heart—you are in the company of the believers of old. And remember that no tyrant, no matter how powerful or arrogant, can ever escape the justice of Allah. Pharaoh's arrogance only hastened his destruction, while the humble believers were saved. So hold firm to your faith, even when the world seems against you, for Allah is with those who are patient and true.
