Tafsir (Explanation):

After the seven fruitful years of abundance and prosperity, there will come seven years of severe hardship and drought. These years will be so harsh that they will consume everything you have stored and saved during the years of plenty — the people will eat through all your reserves. Nothing will remain except a small amount that you carefully protect and set aside, specifically to be used as seed for the next planting season. This verse teaches us a profound lesson in foresight and planning: the wise person prepares for difficult times during periods of ease, and understands that prosperity is not permanent.
