Surah Al-Kahf — Verse 99

The Interpretation:

On that momentous Day—the Day when the promise of Allah draws near and the final hour approaches—Allah tells us that He will leave Gog and Magog (Ya’jūj and Ma’jūj) to surge and swell over one another like a raging sea. Released from the barrier that had held them back, they will pour forth in overwhelming numbers, colliding and mixing in utter chaos, a scene of sheer confusion and helplessness. This is a sign of the end times, a prelude to the final chapter of this world.

Then, immediately after this overwhelming sight, the Trumpet will be blown—the great Horn of resurrection. At that sound, every soul that has ever lived, from the first to the last, will be gathered together in one single plain. There will be no escaping, no hiding, no distinction between the mighty and the weak. Allah will assemble all of humanity—and indeed all of creation—in one place for the ultimate reckoning.

This verse is a powerful reminder that no matter how chaotic the world becomes, no matter how many trials and tribulations befall us, the end is certain and the meeting with our Lord is inevitable. The chaos of Gog and Magog is temporary, but the gathering for judgment is eternal. So let us prepare for that Day while we still have time, for the Trumpet will be blown when we least expect it, and then there will be no return. Let this be a call to turn back to Allah, to seek His mercy, and to live a life that will make that gathering a source of joy rather than regret.
