Word Meanings:

(Naqdhiru): We hurl or cast forcefully.
(Al-Haqq): The truth — meaning faith, revelation, and divine guidance.
(Al-Batil): Falsehood — meaning polytheism, disbelief, and every false claim.
(Fayadhmaghuhu): It crushes or smashes it — like a blow to the skull that destroys the brain.
(Zahiq): Perishing, vanishing, and completely annihilated.
(Al-Wayl): Destruction, ruin, and severe punishment.
(Tasifun): What you attribute or describe — referring to their false descriptions of Allah.

Tafsir (Interpretation):

After the previous verse mentioned that the disbelievers mockingly said Allah has taken a child or that the angels are His daughters, Allah responds here with a powerful, decisive declaration. He says: "Rather, We hurl the truth against falsehood, so it crushes it, and behold, it vanishes."

This is a magnificent metaphor of divine power. Imagine a mighty warrior hurling a solid rock at a fragile structure — the moment it strikes, the structure shatters and collapses into dust. This is exactly what Allah does with truth and falsehood. The truth — which is the Quran, the message of Islam, and the pure belief in Allah's oneness — is hurled with force against the falsehood of polytheism, idolatry, and every false claim about Allah. The result is inevitable: falsehood is crushed, destroyed, and completely wiped out. It cannot stand, it cannot resist, and it cannot survive.

This verse carries a profound lesson for all times. Throughout history, falsehood may appear strong, loud, and influential for a while — but its end is always destruction. Truth, on the other hand, may face temporary setbacks, but it always prevails in the end. This is Allah's promise and His established way in the universe.

Then Allah addresses the polytheists directly: "And woe to you for what you describe." This is a severe warning and a threat. The "woe" here refers to destruction and punishment in the Hereafter — all because of their false descriptions of Allah, attributing to Him a wife, a child, or any partner. These are descriptions that completely contradict His majesty, perfection, and absolute oneness.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Dear reader, reflect on the beauty of this verse. Allah is telling us that truth is not merely a concept — it is a living force that actively destroys falsehood. When you hold firmly to the truth of Islam — the belief in one God, the worship of Him alone, and following His Messenger ﷺ — you are on the side that will inevitably triumph. No matter how much falsehood spreads, no matter how many people promote it, its fate is sealed: it will vanish like a mirage in the desert.

This verse also invites us to purify our belief about Allah. He is far above any imperfection, any partner, any child, or any human-like attribute. He is the Creator of all, the Sustainer of all, and the Only One worthy of worship. When you truly understand who Allah is, your heart fills with awe, love, and submission — and you find peace that nothing else can provide.

So hold on to the truth, dear Muslim. Let it crush every doubt, every fear, and every falsehood in your life. And know that Allah's promise is true: truth prevails, falsehood perishes, and those who follow the truth are the ultimate winners — in this life and the next.

📜 Verse 16-20 — Al-Anbiya

And We did not create the heaven and earth and that between them in play.
Had We intended to take a diversion, We could have taken it from [what is] with Us - if [indeed] We were to do so.
Rather, We dash the truth upon falsehood, and it destroys it, and thereupon it departs. And for you is destruction from that which you describe.
To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those near Him are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, nor do they tire.
They exalt [Him] night and day [and] do not slacken.
