Tafsir (Explanation):
This noble verse brings glad tidings to those who make the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of their Lord. Allah speaks of the believers who left their homes, families, and homelands—not for worldly gain, but purely seeking Allah’s pleasure and striving to elevate His word and support His religion. These are the true emigrants who traded comfort for faith, and security for the cause of truth.
Then, whether they were killed while fighting in Allah’s path, or they passed away naturally—without engaging in battle—Allah makes a solemn promise: He will surely grant them a beautiful and generous provision. This provision is not merely the fleeting joys of this world, but the everlasting bliss of Paradise, where rivers flow, delights never end, and peace fills every heart. It is a provision that never diminishes, never ceases, and never disappoints. Some scholars also note that "good provision" means pure and lawful sustenance, free from any taint.
And to emphasize His absolute power and generosity, Allah concludes: "And indeed, Allah—He is the Best of providers." He provides for His servants in ways beyond imagination, without measure or limit. He provides for the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and most importantly, He provides for His righteous servants with the ultimate reward—His eternal Paradise and His good pleasure.
Dear believer, reflect on this beautiful promise! If you are unable to emigrate physically, you can still emigrate from sin to obedience, from negligence to devotion, and from this world’s distractions to the remembrance of Allah. Every step you take for His sake, every sacrifice you make for His religion, is never lost. Allah sees it all, and His reward is the best of rewards. So strive, be patient, and trust in the One who is the Best of providers—for His promise is true, and His generosity knows no bounds.
