Tafsir (Explanation):
When Prophet Musa (Moses, peace be upon him) reached the full peak of his physical strength and his intellect matured completely—around the age of forty, which is the age of prophethood—Allah bestowed upon him wisdom and knowledge. This was a special divine gift granted before his formal prophethood, enabling him to speak the truth, discern right from wrong, and understand the religious laws of the Children of Israel. He was able to judge matters with fairness and insight, and he would openly denounce falsehood even before receiving the divine message.
This verse carries a profound and beautiful promise: "And thus do We reward the doers of good." Allah, in His infinite mercy and justice, does not let the sincere efforts of His righteous servants go to waste. Just as He honored Musa with wisdom and knowledge because of his sincerity and excellence in conduct, He likewise grants His guidance, understanding, and divine support to every believer who strives to perfect their faith and character.
This is a timeless principle that applies to every generation and every place. Whoever sincerely seeks goodness, purifies their intentions, and acts with excellence in their worship and dealings with others—Allah will open for them doors of wisdom and knowledge that they never imagined. The path to true success is not through wealth or status, but through sincere devotion and excellence in action. Let this be a source of hope and motivation for every Muslim: your sincere efforts are never lost in the sight of Allah, and His reward for the doers of good is both immediate (in this world through wisdom and inner peace) and deferred (in the Hereafter with eternal bliss).
