📖 English Meaning
And they will cry out therein, "Our Lord, remove us; we will do righteousness - other than what we were doing!" But did We not grant you life enough for whoever would remember therein to remember, and the warner had come to you? So taste [the punishment], for there is not for the wrongdoers any helper.

Meanings of Key Words:

They cry out and scream at the top of their voices, desperately seeking help.
Take us out (of the Fire) and return us to the worldly life.
The Warner; the Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him), or the Qur'an, or the signs of old age that warn a person of the approaching end.

Explanation of the Verse:

In this verse, Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) paints a vivid scene from the Day of Judgment, showing the state of the wrongdoers trapped in the blazing Fire. They cry out in utter desperation, screaming with the loudest voices, begging their Lord: "Our Lord, take us out of this torment! We will do righteous deeds, completely different from what we used to do in the world — we will believe instead of disbelieve, obey instead of disobey, and follow the truth instead of falsehood."

But the response comes as a stern rebuke, silencing their plea: "Did We not give you a long enough life — a lifespan during which anyone who wished to reflect and take heed could have done so? Did We not grant you ample time to repent, to return to your Lord, and to perform good deeds? And did the Warner not come to you — the Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) who warned you of this very Day, and the Qur'an that reminded you of the consequences of your actions?"

So after all that — after the gift of time, the sending of messengers, and the revelation of guidance — they have no excuse left. The door of opportunity has closed forever. Therefore, they are told: "Taste the punishment! For the wrongdoers — those who oppressed their own souls through disbelief and sin — there is no helper, no savior, and no intercessor who can rescue them from Allah's torment or lighten it even for a moment."

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, this verse is not merely a story of the past — it is a profound reminder for you and me today. It tells us that Allah, in His infinite mercy, has given us a precious gift: time. Every breath we take is an opportunity to turn back to Him, to mend our ways, and to do good. The Messenger (peace be upon him) has come to us, and the Qur'an is in our hands — the ultimate Warner and Guide. So let us not wait until we are in a place where cries for another chance go unanswered. Let us seize this moment, right now, to repent sincerely, to increase our good deeds, and to draw closer to Allah. For the door of repentance is open — but only in this life. Do not let it close while you are still able to knock.

📜 Verse 35-39 — Fatir

He who has settled us in the home of duration out of His bounty. There touches us not in it any fatigue, and there touches us not in it weariness [of mind]."
And for those who disbelieve will be the fire of Hell. [Death] is not decreed for them so they may die, nor will its torment be lightened for them. Thus do we recompense every ungrateful one.
And they will cry out therein, "Our Lord, remove us; we will do righteousness - other than what we were doing!" But did We not grant you life enough for whoever would remember therein to remember, and the warner had come to you? So taste [the punishment], for there is not for the wrongdoers any helper.
Indeed, Allah is Knower of the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and earth. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.
It is He who has made you successors upon the earth. And whoever disbelieves - upon him will be [the consequence of] his disbelief. And the disbelief of the disbelievers does not increase them in the sight of their Lord except in hatred; and the disbelief of the disbelievers does not increase them except in loss.
