Wa iny yukazzibooka faqad kuzzibat Rusulum min qablik; wa ilal laahi turja`ul umoor
📖 English Meaning
And if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - already were messengers denied before you. And to Allah are returned [all] matters.

Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • "Rusul" (رُسُل): Messengers or prophets sent by Allah to guide their nations.
  • "Turja'u" (تُرْجَعُ): All matters are returned, referred, or resolved.
  • "Al-Umur" (الأُمُور): All affairs, matters, and decisions—both in this life and the Hereafter.

Tafsir (Explanation):

O noble Messenger, if your people deny you and reject the message you have brought, then do not let this weigh heavily upon your heart. For you are not the first prophet to face such rejection—indeed, many messengers before you were denied by their own nations. The people of 'Ad denied Hud, the people of Thamud denied Salih, and the people of Lut denied him as well. This is the sunnah (way) of Allah with His prophets: they are tested with opposition and disbelief, yet they remain patient and steadfast.

This verse serves as a profound consolation to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and to every believer who strives in the path of Allah. When you face rejection, mockery, or hostility for conveying the truth, remember that you are walking the same path that all the prophets walked. Their endurance was not in vain, and neither will yours be.

Then comes the ultimate reassurance: "And to Allah all matters are returned." This means that the final decision and judgment belong to Allah alone. He sees every tear, every effort, every moment of patience, and every act of sincerity. In the Hereafter, He will settle all accounts with perfect justice: the deniers will face their punishment, and His messengers and their true followers will be granted victory and honor. So do not grieve over their rejection—your success is with Allah, and your reward is with Him.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, this verse carries a timeless lesson for all of us. If you are striving to do good, to call others to righteousness, or to uphold the truth in any form, and you face opposition or rejection—take heart! You are in the company of the prophets. Their stories are a testament that truth ultimately prevails, not through the approval of people, but through the decree of Allah. Let this fill your heart with hope and courage. And if you find yourself among those who have rejected the truth in the past, know that it is never too late to turn back to Allah. He is the Most Merciful, and He accepts sincere repentance. Embrace the message of the Quran, and let it transform your life, for the return of all matters is to Him—and that is the ultimate success.

📜 Verse 2-6 — Fatir

Whatever Allah grants to people of mercy - none can withhold it; and whatever He withholds - none can release it thereafter. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
O mankind, remember the favor of Allah upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the heaven and earth? There is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded?
And if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - already were messengers denied before you. And to Allah are returned [all] matters.
O mankind, indeed the promise of Allah is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver.
Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze.
