Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- الْبَلَاغُ (al-balagh): The delivery or conveyance of the message.
- الْمُبِينُ (al-mubin): The clear, manifest, and unambiguous — that which leaves no room for doubt or misunderstanding.
Explanation of the Verse:
In this verse, the messengers continue their address to the people of the city who had rejected their call. They affirm: "We are not responsible for your guidance or your response to the truth. Our sole duty is to convey the message of Allah to you with absolute clarity, leaving no excuse for ignorance."
The messengers are making a crucial distinction here — a distinction that carries profound meaning for every believer. They are saying: We are not here to force you, to coerce you, or to guarantee your acceptance. Our mission is purely to deliver, to explain, and to make the truth so evident that no one can claim they did not understand. The guidance itself — the opening of hearts and the acceptance of faith — is entirely in the hands of Allah alone. He guides whom He wills and leaves astray whom He wills, according to His infinite wisdom and justice.
This verse teaches us a beautiful and liberating principle: the duty of the caller to Allah is to convey the message with wisdom, clarity, and sincerity — and then to leave the results to Allah. No prophet, no scholar, no parent, no friend can force faith into another's heart. What we can do is present the truth in the most beautiful and convincing manner, with patience and compassion, and then trust in Allah's plan.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, this verse carries a timeless lesson for all of us. If you are a believer, remember that your responsibility toward others is to share the beauty of Islam with kindness and clarity — whether through your words, your character, or your actions — and then to leave the outcome to Allah. Do not despair if you see no immediate results, for the messengers of Allah faced the same, yet they remained steadfast and patient.
And if you are still searching for the truth, know that the message of the Quran has been conveyed to you with the utmost clarity — every verse, every proof, every sign pointing to the Oneness of Allah and the beauty of His guidance. The messengers have done their part; the Quran stands before you as a living miracle. Now, the choice is yours. Open your heart, reflect sincerely, and you will find that this message speaks directly to your soul, for it comes from the One who created you and knows what lies within you.
