Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- تَوَلَّ — turn away, withdraw, or leave them alone.
- حَتَّى حِينٍ — until a specified time or period known to Allah.
Explanation of the Verse:
O Messenger, turn away from these stubborn disbelievers who reject the truth and persist in their opposition. Do not let their mockery, harm, or rejection weigh on your heart, and do not despair over their disbelief. Leave them to their own devices for a period whose end is known only to Allah. This is not a command to abandon calling to the truth forever, but rather a directive to pause and wait — for Allah has a precise plan. He has granted them a respite, a delay, and when that appointed time arrives, His decree will unfold. They will witness with their own eyes the consequences of their arrogance and defiance. So be patient, stand firm in your mission, and await what Allah has promised — for His promise is true, and His justice is inevitable. This verse also carries a profound lesson for every believer: when faced with hostility and rejection, do not lose hope or become consumed by anger. Trust in Allah’s timing, focus on your own duty, and leave the outcome to the One who knows all. The victory of truth is certain, and the end of falsehood is near, even if it seems delayed.
