Key Words and Their Meanings:

- Mushfiqun (مُشْفِقُونَ): Fearful, filled with awe and apprehension.
- Yumaruna (يُمَارُونَ): They argue, dispute, or engage in contentious debate.

The Interpretation:
This verse draws a striking contrast between two groups of people regarding the Hour (the Day of Judgment). On one side, those who do not believe in its coming mockingly demand it to be hastened. They say, in effect, "If this Hour is true, then bring it now!" — not out of faith or longing, but out of ridicule and denial. Because they reject the concepts of accountability, reward, and punishment, they treat the promise of the Hereafter as a joke and challenge it with arrogance.
On the other side stand the believers. Their hearts are filled with reverent fear and deep concern when they think of that Day. They do not demand it hastily; rather, they prepare for it with sincere deeds, knowing with absolute certainty that it is the truth — a reality that will undoubtedly come to pass. Their faith is not blind; it is rooted in conviction, and that conviction drives them to live righteously and to seek Allah's mercy.
Then the verse concludes with a powerful warning: those who argue and dispute about the Hour, who doubt its coming and try to cast uncertainty into the hearts of others, are in profound misguidance — far removed from the path of truth. Their endless debates stem from stubbornness and arrogance, not from sincere inquiry.
A Call to Reflection:
Dear reader, ponder this: why would anyone mock something as certain as the Day of Judgment? The disbelievers' haste is a sign of their heedlessness — they do not realize that when that Hour arrives, no soul will be given another chance. But you, as a believer, have a precious opportunity right now. Let your fear of that Day be a motivation, not a paralyzing dread. Let it push you toward good deeds, sincere repentance, and a life that pleases your Creator. The One who informed us of this Hour is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise — His promise is true, and His warning is real. Do not be among those who argue and doubt; be among those who believe, prepare, and hope for His mercy. The path of faith is clear, and its reward is eternal — so hasten toward it before the Hour overtakes you.
