Surah Az-Zukhruf — Verse 86

Allah responds decisively: those whom they call upon besides Him — whether idols, angels, prophets, or righteous beings — possess no power whatsoever to intercede for anyone on their own accord.

However, Allah makes an exception with profound wisdom: intercession is only possible for those who have testified to the truth with full knowledge and certainty. This refers to the prophets, angels, and righteous servants like Jesus, Ezra, and the angels — who themselves testified to Allah's oneness and submitted to His will. Even their intercession is not independent; it is only granted by Allah's permission and for those He approves of.
