Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Yatadabbarūn (يَتَدَبَّرُونَ): To ponder, reflect deeply, and carefully consider the meaning and implications of something, looking beyond the surface to its ultimate purpose and guidance.
- Aqfāluhā (أَقْفَالُهَا): Locks or seals that firmly close something, preventing anything from entering or exiting.
Tafsir (Explanation):
Do these people not reflect deeply upon the Quran and contemplate its verses with sincere hearts? If they did, they would find in it clear guidance to every good, a light that illuminates their path, and a warning that steers them away from every evil. The Quran addresses their intellect, appeals to their reason, and calls them to truth with the most eloquent proofs and the most compelling arguments. Yet, despite all this, they turn away—so what is the obstacle? The answer is that their hearts are sealed with locks, firmly shut and barred. No admonition reaches them, no reminder benefits them, and no truth finds its way into their closed minds. The Quran is not the problem—the problem lies in hearts that have chosen to shut their doors to guidance.
Da'wah Reflection:
Dear reader, this verse is a gentle yet powerful call to open your heart to the Book of Allah. The Quran is not a book to be merely recited or admired from a distance—it is a living conversation between your Lord and you, filled with mercy, wisdom, and solutions to every matter of your life. The locks on the hearts are not placed by Allah unjustly; they are the result of persistent neglect, arrogance, or turning away from the truth. But the good news is that these locks can be removed! By sincerely returning to Allah, seeking His forgiveness, and approaching the Quran with an open heart and a humble spirit, the locks begin to open, and the light of guidance floods in. Do not let your heart remain closed to the very words that can transform your life, elevate your soul, and lead you to eternal success. Take a moment today to open the Quran, reflect on its meanings, and let it speak to your heart—you will find in it a treasure beyond compare.
