Surah Al-Qamar — Verse 9

Tafsir (Explanation):

Before your people, O Messenger, the people of Noah also rejected the truth. When Allah sent His noble servant Noah to guide them, they did not merely deny his message — they intensified their denial and stubbornly refused to believe. They went further and accused this righteous prophet of insanity, claiming that his call to monotheism and righteousness could only come from a disturbed mind. Moreover, they violently rebuked him, threatened him, and drove him away with insults and abuse, demanding that he cease his mission of calling them to Allah. This was the fate of the prophets before you — yet their patience and steadfastness ultimately led to Allah's victory and the destruction of the disbelievers.

Daʿwah Reflection:

This verse carries a profound lesson for every believer: the path of truth has always been met with hostility, mockery, and false accusations. When you call people to goodness, do not be surprised by their rejection — for even the greatest of prophets, Noah, was called insane by his own people. Take comfort in knowing that you are following in the footsteps of Allah's chosen messengers. Their accusations do not diminish your worth; rather, they confirm that you are upon the truth. So remain patient, steadfast, and gentle in your approach, for Allah's help is near, and His promise to support His righteous servants is certain. The storms of falsehood may rage, but the ark of faith always sails to safety.
