Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Al-Musaddiqin / Al-Musaddiqat: Those who give charity, both men and women, from their wealth in the way of Allah.
- Qardan Hasana: A goodly loan — spending in Allah’s cause with a pure heart, sincere intention, and without seeking worldly return or showing off.
- Yuda’af: Multiplied — the reward is increased manifold.
- Ajrun Karim: A generous, noble reward — which is Paradise and Allah’s pleasure.
Tafsir (Explanation):
Allah, the Most High, declares that those men and women who give charity from their wealth — spending it willingly and cheerfully in His cause, seeking only His noble Face, without reminders of favor or harm to the recipients — have indeed made a "goodly loan" to their Lord. This is a beautiful metaphor: Allah, the Owner of all treasures, calls their spending a loan, as if He is in need of it, yet it is purely for their own benefit. He multiplies their reward beyond measure: every good deed is rewarded from ten times to seven hundred times, and even more, as He wills. And beyond this immense multiplication, He has prepared for them a generous, honorable reward — the everlasting bliss of Paradise, where they will dwell forever in His pleasure and nearness.
A Call to the Reader:
O beloved servant of Allah, reflect on this magnificent promise! The One who created you and provides for you — the One who owns the heavens and the earth — has called your small act of charity a "loan" to Him. What an honor! When you give a little of what He has already given you, He does not merely repay you; He multiplies it beyond your imagination and then grants you Paradise as a gift. So do not hold back, O soul that loves goodness! Spend from what Allah has blessed you with, whether little or much, with a sincere heart and a smiling face. For every coin you give in His path is a seed that will grow into mountains of reward on the Day you need it most. And remember: the best charity is that given while you are healthy and hopeful of wealth, fearing poverty — for that is the true test of faith. Be among the musaddiqin and musaddiqat, and rejoice in the glad tidings of a multiplied reward and a generous, eternal abode with your Lord.
