Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Al-Wāqi‘ah (الْوَاقِعَةُ): The Event that is bound to occur — the Resurrection and the establishment of the Hereafter. It is called "the Falling Event" because it falls upon creation suddenly and inevitably, leaving no room for denial or escape.

Tafsir (Explanation):

On that Day — the Day when the Trumpet is blown with a single, earth-shattering blast, when the heavens split apart and the mountains are crushed to dust, when the earth and mountains are lifted and dashed to pieces in one stroke — the promised Reality will finally take place. The Resurrection will descend upon all of creation, and the great calamity that every soul was warned about will become an undeniable, witnessed truth. That is the moment when the world as we know it ends, and the eternal life begins — a life where every deed, every word, and every hidden intention will be laid bare before the Lord of all worlds.

This verse strikes at the heart of human heedlessness. It reminds us that no matter how firmly we cling to this worldly life, there is a Day that is absolutely certain to come — a Day that no power can delay, no wealth can avert, and no status can escape. The Qur’an calls it *al-Wāqi‘ah* — the Event that must fall — because its occurrence is not a possibility but a decree already written. Just as night follows day, so will that Hour follow this life. The wise believer is the one who prepares for it before it arrives, who turns to Allah in repentance, and who lives each moment as if that Trumpet could sound at any breath.

Beloved reader, this is not a distant myth or a fairy tale — it is the ultimate truth that gives meaning to every prayer, every act of charity, every tear shed in humility before Allah. Let this verse awaken your heart today. Do not wait until the Event falls upon you while you are unprepared. The doors of repentance are open now, the path of guidance is clear, and the mercy of Allah is vast. Seize this moment before that Day when no soul will have a second chance.

📜 Verse 13-17 — Al-Haqqah

Then when the Horn is blown with one blast
And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow -
Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur,
And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm.
And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].
