Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

Given his record (of deeds).
In his right hand (a sign of honor and success).
Here you are!" or "Take it!" — an invitation for others to receive and read.
Read my book!" — the final "h" is a pause sound (saktah) for pronunciation, not a grammatical addition.

Tafsir (Explanation):

On the Day of Judgment, humanity will be divided into two groups: the blessed and the wretched. This verse describes the first group — those who receive their book of deeds in their right hand. This is a mark of honor and divine pleasure, for the right hand symbolizes dignity and success. When such a person receives their record, they are overwhelmed with joy and pride, not because of arrogance, but because they see the fruits of their faith and righteous deeds. They call out to those around them, saying: "Come! Take my book and read it! I was certain in the worldly life that I would meet my Lord and be held accountable, so I prepared for that day with sincere faith and good actions." Their joy is not merely personal; they want others to witness the mercy and justice of Allah, and to share in the celebration of their salvation. This is a moment of pure happiness, free from fear or regret, because they have nothing to hide — their record is filled with what pleases Allah.

A Call to Reflection:

Dear believer, imagine this scene: you are standing before your Lord, and your book is placed in your right hand. You are not afraid; you are not ashamed. Instead, you are calling others to read your record because you know it contains the testimony of your faith — your prayers, your charity, your patience, your kindness. This is the reward of those who lived with awareness of Allah and prepared for this day. The Qur'an invites you to be among them today, while you still have time. Every good deed you do now is a line written in that book that will bring you joy on that great day. Do not let this moment pass without asking yourself: when I receive my book, will I call others to read it with pride, or will I wish it were never shown? The choice is yours, and the time to act is now. May Allah make us among those who receive their book in their right hand, and may He grant us the joy of that eternal success.

📜 Verse 17-21 — Al-Haqqah

And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].
That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed.
So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record!
Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account."
So he will be in a pleasant life -
