Surah Al-Haqqah — Verse 46

• Al-Wateen (الْوَتِين): The aorta — the major artery that is attached to the heart and supplies it with blood. If it is severed, death is immediate and unavoidable.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse continues the powerful warning that follows the previous one. Allah is addressing the hypothetical situation where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had fabricated any words and attributed them to Allah falsely. After stating that Allah would seize him by the right hand — a sign of strength, authority, and complete control — this verse adds: "Then We would have cut from him the aorta."

This means that Allah would have ended his life instantly and completely. The aorta is the lifeline of the heart; severing it leaves no chance of survival, no time for repentance, and no possibility of rescue. This is a vivid and terrifying image that demonstrates the absolute seriousness of attributing falsehood to Allah. It also shows that even the most beloved of Allah’s creation — the Prophet himself — would not be spared if he were to do such a thing.
