Word Meanings:
- Balā (بَلَىٰ): Yes, indeed — a particle of affirmation used to confirm a positive response to a negative question.
- Qādirīn (قَادِرِينَ): Able, capable — emphasizing Allah’s perfect power.
- Nusawwiya (نُسَوِّيَ): To make even, to arrange, to restore to perfect order and proportion.
- Banānah (بَنَانَهُ): His fingertips or fingers — the delicate, intricate ends of the human hand.
Explanation of the Verse:
The verse comes as a direct, emphatic response to the disbeliever’s doubt — the one who asks, “Will Allah really gather our bones after they have decayed into dust?” To this, Allah replies: “Yes, indeed!” — We are not only able to gather those scattered bones, but We are fully capable of restoring even the finest details of the human body, down to the very tips of the fingers, making them perfectly formed and functional as they were before death.
This is a profound demonstration of Allah’s absolute power. The fingertips are among the most intricate and precise parts of the human anatomy — each person has a unique pattern of ridges and lines on their fingers, a fingerprint that no one else shares. If Allah can recreate these delicate, distinct details with perfect precision, then surely He is more than able to bring the entire human being back to life for the Day of Judgment.
The verse carries a powerful message: the same Allah who created you in the womb with such perfection, who gave you fingers that can grasp, write, and perform countless tasks, is the One who will resurrect you. Nothing about your creation is too difficult for Him — not even the smallest, most intricate part of your body.
A Call to Reflection and Faith:
Dear reader, look at your own hand for a moment. Contemplate the miracle of your fingertips — the unique patterns that distinguish you from every other human being who has ever lived or will ever live. This is not a random accident; it is the signature of a Wise and Powerful Creator. If He could design you with such breathtaking precision the first time, how could He not be able to bring you back after death?
This verse is an invitation to replace doubt with certainty, and to replace arrogance with humility. The One who created you from a drop of fluid, who shaped you and gave you form, who gave you fingers that work in perfect harmony — that same Lord promises you a resurrection. Do not let the whispers of denial distance you from this truth. Embrace faith, and let the awareness of Allah’s power transform your heart and guide your actions. For the Day will surely come when every soul will stand before its Creator, and on that Day, the very fingers you now use will bear witness to what you did with them.
