Key Words and Their Meanings:

  • Innahu (إِنَّهُ): Indeed, it (referring to the Qur'an).
  • Laqawlu (لَقَوْلُ): Is certainly the word/speech.
  • Rasūlin (رَسُولٍ): A messenger (here, the Angel Gabriel, peace be upon him).
  • Karīm (كَرِيمٍ): Noble, honored, and generous.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse comes as part of a series of powerful oaths in which Allah, the Almighty, swears by the stars that hide their light during the day, by the night as it brings darkness, and by the dawn as it breathes light — all to affirm the truth and majesty of the Qur'an. After these solemn oaths, Allah declares: "Indeed, it (the Qur'an) is the word of a noble messenger."

The "noble messenger" here is not a human prophet, but the Angel Gabriel (Jibril), peace be upon him. He is described as "noble" because of his immense honor and high rank in the sight of Allah. He is the one entrusted with the divine revelation, carrying it down from the heavens to the heart of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Qur'an is described as his "word" because he conveys it from Allah, not because he authored it — rather, he is the faithful transmitter of the pure speech of Allah, the Lord of all worlds.

This description highlights several profound truths: the Qur'an is not poetry, not magic, not human invention — it is the very speech of Allah, delivered by the most honored of angels, to the most honored of prophets, for the benefit of all humanity. The verse reassures the believer of the authenticity and divine origin of the Qur'an, and it elevates the status of the revelation as something sacred and untouchable by falsehood.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Dear reader, pause and reflect on the majesty of this verse. The Creator of the heavens and the earth, the One who controls the stars and the night and the dawn, has chosen to speak to you. He sent His most noble angel with His words, preserved for over 1,400 years, so that you may know your purpose, find peace in your heart, and be guided to eternal success. The Qur'an is not a book to be ignored or taken lightly — it is a direct message from your Lord, full of mercy, wisdom, and light. Open your heart to it, read it with reflection, and let it transform your life. For in it lies the key to happiness in this world and salvation in the Hereafter.
