Surah At-Tawbah — Verse 58

If they receive a share from these funds, they become satisfied and silent, praising the distribution as just. But if they are denied what they want, or if their share does not meet their greedy expectations, they immediately become furious and voice their discontent, accusing you of injustice and favoritism.

This verse exposes the true nature of such individuals: their loyalty is not to the truth or to the principles of Islam, but to their own worldly interests. Their judgment of fairness is entirely conditional upon their personal gain. When their desires are met, they are pleased; when they are not, they turn to resentment and blame—regardless of what is actually right or wise in the distribution.
