Surah Al-Layl — Verse 16

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse describes the kind of person who will enter the blazing Fire — the most wretched and miserable one. Such a person is characterized by two grave traits:

First, they denied the truth — they rejected the message of Allah’s Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), refusing to accept the signs, the scriptures, and the call to monotheism. Their denial was not out of ignorance, but out of stubbornness and pride.

Second, they turned away — they did not merely reject the truth passively; they actively distanced themselves from it. They turned their backs on faith in Allah and His Messenger, and they refused to obey Allah’s commands or follow the path of righteousness. They showed no willingness to listen, reflect, or submit.

This verse serves as a powerful warning: the path of denial and turning away leads to ruin. It reminds us that the greatest misfortune is not poverty or hardship in this world, but rather the state of a heart that rejects guidance and shuns the mercy of its Creator.
