Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- "Suyujannabuha" — He will be removed, distanced, or saved from it (the Fire).
- "Al-Atqa" — The most righteous, the one who is most mindful of Allah, the one with the highest degree of taqwa (God-consciousness).
Explanation of the Verse:
Allah Almighty informs us in this noble verse that the Hellfire — which He has already promised to the wretched disbelievers — will be kept far away from the most righteous servant. This is the one who purifies his soul through sincere faith, avoids shirk (associating partners with Allah) and all major sins, and lives a life of constant awareness of his Lord. He is the one who gives his wealth in charity not as a repayment for a favor done to him, nor to show off or seek praise, but purely seeking the Face of his Lord, the Most High, and His pleasure. Such a person will be distanced from the Fire in a way that he will not even hear its sound or see its flames, and instead, Allah will grant him in Paradise that which satisfies him completely and brings him joy.
The most perfect example of this "Al-Atqa" is Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), who spent his wealth sincerely for the sake of Allah, freeing believing slaves who were being tortured for their faith, and supporting the Prophet ﷺ in every way possible — all without expecting any worldly return or reward from any human being.
A Call to the Reader:
Dear reader, this verse carries a beautiful and hopeful message for every believer. It tells us that Allah does not judge us by the amount of our wealth or the outward appearance of our deeds, but by the sincerity and purity of our hearts. The door of salvation is open for all who turn to Allah with true taqwa — whether they are rich or poor, young or old. You do not need to be perfect; you only need to strive sincerely, avoid what Allah has forbidden, and spend from what Allah has given you — even if it is little — seeking His pleasure alone. If you do so, then know with certainty that Allah will protect you from the Fire and grant you a reward that will make you truly happy, both in this life and the next. Let this verse be a source of hope and motivation for you to draw closer to your Lord, for His mercy is vast and His generosity is beyond measure.
