Key Words and Meanings:
- "Bī Āyātinā" (بِآيَاتِنَا): With Our signs and miracles — the clear proofs and evidences that demonstrate the truth of Allah’s Oneness and the prophethood of Moses (peace be upon him).
- "Sulṭānin Mubīn" (سُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ): A manifest and undeniable authority — a decisive, luminous proof that leaves no room for doubt or excuse.
Explanation of the Verse:
In this noble verse, Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) declares that He sent His Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) to Pharaoh and his people, equipped with two powerful weapons of truth: His signs — the great miracles such as the staff turning into a serpent, the shining hand, the parting of the sea, and the plagues — and a manifest authority — a clear, overwhelming argument that illuminated the intellect and conscience of anyone who reflected with a sound heart. These signs and proofs were not mere tricks or illusions; they were decisive evidences that pointed unmistakably to the Oneness of Allah, the Almighty, and exposed the falsehood of anyone who claimed divinity besides Him, such as Pharaoh who arrogantly declared, "I am your lord, the Most High."
The verse reassures the believers that truth always carries with it its own proof and light. When Allah sends a messenger, He never leaves him without the means to convince and guide, and He never abandons His cause without support. The "manifest authority" given to Moses was a mercy from Allah to humanity, so that no one could claim ignorance on the Day of Judgment, and so that the path to guidance would be as clear as the sun in the midday sky.
A Call to Reflection and Faith:
Dear reader, ponder deeply upon this verse and let your heart be filled with awe and gratitude. Allah, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, did not leave humanity in darkness. He sent His messengers with miracles and clear proofs, and He sent the Final Messenger, Muhammad (peace be upon him), with the greatest and eternal miracle — the Qur’an — which remains a living, manifest authority for all of mankind until the end of time.
So open your heart to these signs, and let them lead you to the light of faith. For whoever sincerely seeks the truth will find that Allah’s signs are all around him and within him, calling him to his Creator. And whoever responds to that call will taste the sweetness of certainty and the peace of submission to the One Who created him, sustained him, and guided him to the straight path. Indeed, the greatest success lies in following the messengers, and the greatest loss is in turning away from their clear proofs. May Allah make us among those who see the truth and follow it, and among those who are guided by His manifest signs.
