  • Min kulli mā sa'altumūh (مِن كُلِّ مَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُ): From everything you asked of Him.
  • Tu'addū (تَعُدُّوا): You count or enumerate.
  • Tu'ḥṣūhā (تُحْصُوهَا): You can fully encompass, comprehend, or complete the count.
  • La-ẓalūm (لَظَلُوم): Extremely unjust and wronging (oneself).
  • Kaffār (كَفَّار): Extremely ungrateful, denying and rejecting blessings.

Explanation of the Verse:

Allah, in His boundless mercy and generosity, reminds His servants of a profound truth: He has granted them from everything they have ever asked of Him — and even more than what they asked, for He provides what they need before they ask, and what they did not think to request. He has opened the doors of His bounty, giving from every category of provision: health, sustenance, knowledge, family, security, and countless other blessings that surround them at every moment.

Then comes the staggering reality: if you tried to count the blessings of Allah, you would never be able to enumerate them. They are beyond human capacity to number or fully comprehend. Every breath you take, every beat of your heart, every moment of peace, every morsel of food, every drop of water — each is a blessing that cannot be measured. The blessings are so vast and diverse that even attempting to count them would overwhelm the mind, and even if you spent your entire life in gratitude, you could never fully repay or even fully recognize them all.

Yet despite this overwhelming generosity, the verse concludes with a sobering truth about human nature: indeed, man is extremely unjust to himself and extremely ungrateful to his Lord. He wrongs himself by committing sins and neglecting his duties, and he denies the blessings of Allah by using them in disobedience or failing to acknowledge their source. This is not a description of all people at all times, but a warning about the general tendency of the human soul when it is not guided by faith and consciousness of Allah.

A Call to Reflection and Gratitude:

Dear reader, pause for a moment and look around you. The air you breathe, the sight in your eyes, the strength in your limbs, the love in your heart — all of these are gifts from the Most Merciful. He did not have to give you any of this, yet He chose to shower you with His favors. When you wake up each morning, you have been given a new day — a fresh opportunity to worship Him, to seek His forgiveness, and to draw closer to Him.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us to say: "O Allah, help me to remember You, to thank You, and to worship You properly." This is the key — gratitude is not just a word on the lips, but a state of the heart that leads to action. When you truly recognize Allah's blessings, you will use them in ways that please Him. You will feed the hungry with the food He gave you, you will speak truth with the tongue He created, you will walk toward good with the legs He strengthened.

Do not be among those who receive blessings and forget the Giver. Be among the grateful, for Allah says in another verse: "If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]" (Ibrahim 14:7). Gratitude is the key to more blessings, and recognizing Allah's favors is the path to His love. Let this verse be a reminder that every good thing in your life comes from Allah alone, and the best response to His generosity is a heart full of thanks, a tongue that praises Him, and a life lived in obedience to Him.

📜 Verse 32-36 — Ibrahim

It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and sent down rain from the sky and produced thereby some fruits as provision for you and subjected for you the ships to sail through the sea by His command and subjected for you the rivers.
And He subjected for you the sun and the moon, continuous [in orbit], and subjected for you the night and the day.
And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful.
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city [Makkah] secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.
My Lord, indeed they have led astray many among the people. So whoever follows me - then he is of me; and whoever disobeys me - indeed, You are [yet] Forgiving and Merciful.
