Tafsir (Explanation):
When Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) and his young companion reached the rock and the fish miraculously came back to life, slipped into the sea, and made a tunnel through the water, Musa's companion remembered the extraordinary event and told him about it. At that moment, Musa (peace be upon him) realized that this was the very sign he had been waiting for — the sign that would lead him to the righteous servant of Allah, Al-Khidr. He said: "That is what we were seeking!" — meaning, this is the sign we were looking for; this is the place where we will find the man of knowledge whom Allah has chosen.
So, filled with hope and determination, they turned back, retracing their exact footsteps along the path they had come. They followed their own tracks carefully, like someone following a trail, until they reached the rock where the miraculous event had taken place. There, they found Al-Khidr, and the long-awaited meeting finally occurred.
This beautiful moment teaches us a profound lesson: when a believer sincerely seeks knowledge and truth, Allah guides them to it, even if the path requires going back and retracing steps. It also shows us the importance of patience and perseverance in the pursuit of beneficial knowledge — for Musa, a great prophet, did not hesitate to travel a long and difficult journey for the sake of learning what Allah had taught His righteous servant.
Dear reader, reflect on this: if a prophet of Allah was so eager to seek knowledge, how much more should we, as ordinary believers, strive to learn our religion, understand the Qur'an, and grow closer to Allah through beneficial knowledge? The journey of Musa teaches us that seeking knowledge is a noble and blessed endeavor, and that Allah rewards those who sincerely pursue it with guidance and success. Let this inspire you to never stop learning, to never give up on your quest for truth, and to trust that Allah will lead you to what is best for you in this life and the next.
