Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- كَيْدًا (Kaydan): A scheme, plot, or cunning plan intended to harm someone secretly or deceitfully.
- الْأَخْسَرِينَ (Al-Akhsareen): The greatest losers; those who suffer the most severe loss and utter ruin.
Tafsir (Explanation):
The verse reveals the desperate attempt of Ibrahim's (peace be upon him) people to destroy him after his powerful call to monotheism shattered their idols and their false pride. They conspired to burn him alive in a massive fire, thinking they could extinguish the light of truth with their hatred. But Allah, the All-Powerful, turned their wicked scheme upside down. He did not merely save His beloved prophet—He made the plotters themselves the greatest losers, humiliated and defeated, while Ibrahim emerged safe, honored, and victorious.
This is the eternal promise of Allah to those who oppose His messengers: their cunning plots only recoil upon themselves. The fire that was meant to burn Ibrahim became cool and safe by Allah's command, and the conspirators were left with nothing but disgrace in this world and severe punishment in the Hereafter. They lost their case, their honor, and their very souls, while Ibrahim and his followers gained success in both worlds.
A Da'wah Reflection:
Beloved reader, look at how Allah defends His righteous servants! When the whole world seems to conspire against you because you uphold the truth, remember that no plot succeeds against Allah's will. The enemies of truth may gather their forces, kindle their fires of hostility, and exhaust their schemes—but Allah's protection for His sincere servants is far greater. Just as Ibrahim walked into the flames with complete trust in his Lord, you too can face the trials of life with certainty that Allah never abandons those who rely on Him. The outcome is always with the believers: what appears to be loss becomes victory, and what seems like victory for the oppressors becomes their ultimate ruin. So hold firm to your faith, and let the fire of this world never shake your trust in the Coolness of Allah's mercy.
