Surah Al-Mu'minun — Verse 17

Tafsir (Explanation):

In this verse, Allah reminds humanity of His immense power and perfect knowledge. He declares: "And We have created above you seven heavens, layer upon layer, and We are never unmindful of creation."

The "seven paths" are the seven heavens, each one stacked above the other, forming a magnificent cosmic structure that surrounds and covers you from above. This is not a mere decoration—it is a sign of Allah's absolute sovereignty and His meticulous design of the universe. The heavens are not just empty space; they are a testament to His wisdom, containing celestial bodies, angels, and divine orders that operate with perfect precision.

Then comes the profound reassurance: "And We are never unmindful of creation." This means Allah is never negligent, never forgetful, and never unaware of anything He has created. Not a single creature—from the smallest ant in the darkest rock to the mightiest galaxy in the farthest corner of the universe—escapes His knowledge, His care, or His watchful eye. He knows what happens in the heavens above and the earth below, and nothing is hidden from Him.

This verse carries a dual message: a call to reflect on the greatness of Allah's creation, and a comfort to the believer that Allah is always aware of their state. If He created these vast heavens above you, then He is certainly capable of protecting you, providing for you, and answering your prayers. And if He is never unmindful of His creation, then He sees your struggles, hears your supplications, and knows your intentions—so never feel alone, and never despair of His mercy.

If He cares for the vast heavens, how much more does He care for you, His honored servant? Turn to Him with confidence, for He is always near, always listening, and always aware.
