Word Meanings:
- Al-Hasanah (الحسنة): The good deed — primarily faith in Allah's oneness (Tawheed), sincere belief, and righteous actions.
- Khayrun minha (خير منها): Something better than it — referring to the immense reward and Paradise that surpasses the deed itself in value and permanence.
- Faza' (فزع): The great terror and overwhelming fear of the Day of Judgment.
- Aminun (آمنون): Secure and safe, free from that terror.
Explanation of the Verse:
This noble verse brings glad tidings to the believers. Allah, the Most Merciful, declares that whoever comes on the Day of Judgment with *al-Hasanah* — meaning sincere faith in Allah's oneness, worship of Him alone, and righteous deeds performed in accordance with His command — will receive a reward far greater and more excellent than what they did. This reward is nothing less than Paradise, eternal bliss, and Allah's good pleasure. The verse emphasizes that such people will be completely secure from the great terror of that Day — the overwhelming fear that will seize all of creation. While others will be consumed by panic and dread, these believers will be shielded by Allah's protection and granted peace and safety.
A Call to Faith and Action:
Dear reader, reflect on this beautiful promise! Allah is not merely rewarding you for your deeds — He is multiplying them beyond measure and granting you safety from the very thing that will terrify every soul. This is the generosity of the Most Merciful: a single sincere deed, rooted in faith, becomes the key to eternal security. The door is open for you today — every good deed you do, every step you take toward Allah, every word of *La ilaha illa Allah* you utter with a truthful heart, brings you closer to that promised safety. Do not underestimate the power of small good deeds; they may be the very deeds that save you from the terror of that Day. Turn to your Lord now, renew your faith, and fill your days with righteousness — for the reward is greater than you can imagine, and the security is more precious than anything in this world.
