Explanation of the Verse:

In this verse, Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) continues to describe His divine plan for the oppressed believers among the Children of Israel. After mentioning His will to bestow favor upon them, He now declares: “And We intended to establish them in the land” — meaning, We will grant them a firm foothold, making them the inheritors of authority and power in Egypt and the blessed lands around it. This was not a mere wish; it was a decree already written, a promise that would inevitably come to pass, no matter how mighty the tyrant seemed.

Then Allah says: “And to show Pharaoh, Haman, and their soldiers from them what they used to fear.” The tyrant Pharaoh, along with his chief minister Haman and their entire military apparatus, had been living in constant dread. A soothsayer or seer had informed them that a boy would be born among the Children of Israel who would bring about the end of Pharaoh’s reign and the collapse of his empire. This is why Pharaoh ordered the massacre of newborn Israelite boys — a desperate attempt to prevent the very thing Allah had already destined. But Allah, in His infinite wisdom and power, turned their fear into reality: He showed them, with their very own eyes, the fulfillment of their worst nightmare. The very child they sought to kill — Moses (peace be upon him) — was raised in Pharaoh’s own palace, protected by Allah, and would later confront Pharaoh with the truth, humiliate his false divinity, and lead the Children of Israel out of bondage, while Pharaoh and his armies drowned in the sea.

This verse carries a profound lesson for every believer: no matter how powerful the oppressor, and no matter how weak the oppressed may appear, Allah’s promise is true. He never abandons His righteous servants. The very thing the enemies of truth fear the most will be brought upon them by Allah’s decree, often in ways they could never imagine. So take heart, O believer — your Lord sees your struggle, and His help is near. The tyrants of this world, with all their armies and ministers, are but pawns in the hands of Allah, and He will show them what they dread, just as He showed Pharaoh and Haman. Trust in Allah, for His promise is certain, and His victory is sweet.

📜 Verse 4-8 — Al-Qasas

Indeed, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and made its people into factions, oppressing a sector among them, slaughtering their [newborn] sons and keeping their females alive. Indeed, he was of the corrupters.
And We wanted to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors
And establish them in the land and show Pharaoh and [his minister] Haman and their soldiers through them that which they had feared.
And We inspired to the mother of Moses, "Suckle him; but when you fear for him, cast him into the river and do not fear and do not grieve. Indeed, We will return him to you and will make him [one] of the messengers."
And the family of Pharaoh picked him up [out of the river] so that he would become to them an enemy and a [cause of] grief. Indeed, Pharaoh and Haman and their soldiers were deliberate sinners.
