Explanation of the Verse:
This noble verse reveals the immense status and honor that Allah has bestowed upon His beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Allah Himself, the Lord of the Worlds, praises His Prophet before the angels in the highest heavens, and the angels, in turn, join in sending blessings and supplications for him. This is a divine honor that no other creation has received in such a manner.
Then Allah addresses the believers directly, commanding them: "O you who have believed, send blessings upon him and greet him with peace." This is not merely a recommendation—it is a divine command from Allah to every believer. When we send blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him), we are not only fulfilling a command but also drawing closer to Allah, for He Himself has set the example by blessing His Prophet.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us the best way to send blessings upon him. One of the most authentic forms is: "O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, just as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim. Verily, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, just as You blessed the family of Ibrahim. Verily, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious."
This verse is a beautiful reminder of the deep love and connection between the believer and the Prophet (peace be upon him). Every time we send blessings upon him, we are acknowledging his prophethood, his sacrifice, and his intercession for us on the Day of Judgment. It is a means of purification for our hearts, a source of light in our lives, and a way to increase our love for the one who was sent as a mercy to all of mankind.
Dear believer, make it a habit to send abundant blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) throughout your day—in your prayers, in your gatherings, and in your moments of solitude. For whoever sends one blessing upon him, Allah sends ten blessings upon that person. This is a treasure that costs nothing but brings endless reward, both in this world and in the Hereafter. Let your tongue be moist with the remembrance of the Prophet (peace be upon him), for he will recognize you on the Day of Judgment by your frequent blessings upon him.
