- Ma ʿamilathu aydihim (وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ): What their hands have cultivated, planted, or harvested from the earth.

Explanation of the Verse:
This verse follows the mention of the earth’s revival after its death, the springs of water gushing forth, and the gardens of dates and grapes that Allah has caused to grow. The purpose of all this is that people may eat from its fruit—fruit that is a pure gift from Allah’s mercy, not earned by their own effort or strength. They did not create the water, nor did they cause the seeds to sprout, nor did they bring the rain from the sky. Even what their hands have worked—such as planting, tending, and harvesting—only succeeds because Allah grants the growth, the seasons, and the very ability to act.
Thus, the verse calls them to reflect: Do they not feel gratitude toward their Lord? Should they not thank Him by worshipping Him alone, obeying His commands, and believing in His messengers? The blessings of Allah are countless—food, water, health, and life itself—yet how often do people take them for granted, attributing them to their own cleverness or sheer luck? True thankfulness is not merely words on the tongue; it is a heartfelt recognition that every good thing comes from Allah, and it is shown through action—by using these blessings in ways that please Him and by turning to Him with humility and love.
This gentle reminder is an invitation to open the eyes of the heart. When you see a ripe fruit, a green field, or a flowing spring, let it remind you of the Generous Provider. Let it draw you closer to Him, for He who feeds you from the earth is the One who will also provide for you in the Hereafter if you are grateful. Gratitude is the key that unlocks more blessings, as Allah has promised: "If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]" (Ibrahim 14:7). So be among those who see His signs, taste His mercy, and respond with a thankful heart and a devoted life.
