Translation Transliteration — Al-Jathiyah

قُلِ اللَّهُ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ۝٢٦

Qulil laahu yuhyeekum summa yumeetukum summa yajma`ukum ilaa Yawmil Qiyaamati laa raiba feehi wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa ya`lamoon

Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

Yuḥyīkum: He gives you life — bringing you into existence from nothing.
Yumītukum: He causes you to die — ending your life at the appointed time.
Yajmaʿukum: He will gather you — assembling all of humanity together.
Lā rayba fīh: There is no doubt in it — it is an absolute certainty.
Lā yaʿlamūn: They do not know — due to lack of reflection and deep thought.

Tafsir (Explanation):

Say, O Messenger, to those who deny the resurrection: Allah alone is the One who gives you life in this world, creating you from nothing when you did not exist. Then He causes you to die at the end of your appointed term. Then, after death, He will gather you all together — the first and the last, the young and the old — on the Day of Resurrection, the day when every soul will be held accountable for what it has done. That day is an absolute certainty; there is no doubt whatsoever about its coming. Yet most people do not know this truth because they fail to reflect deeply, and their vision is limited to the immediate pleasures of this worldly life. They do not realize that the One who brought them into existence from nothing is fully capable of bringing them back to life again after death.

Daʿwah Reflection:

Dear reader, ponder this profound truth: the very breath you take right now is a living proof of Allah's power. The One who created you from a drop of fluid, who gave you eyes that see and a heart that beats — is He not able to bring you back after death? Indeed, returning you to life is even easier than creating you the first time. This verse invites you to open your heart to the certainty of the Hereafter, so that you may prepare for it with sincere deeds. Do not be among those who live heedlessly, as if they will never die and never be raised again. Let this knowledge transform your life: every prayer you offer, every kindness you extend, every sin you avoid — these are your provisions for that inevitable meeting with your Lord. The Day of Gathering is real, and the wise one is he who lives today with tomorrow in mind. So turn to Allah now, before death overtakes you, and let the certainty of the resurrection be the compass that guides your every step toward His pleasure.

📜 Verse 24-28 — Al-Jathiyah

24وَقَالُوا مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَا إِلَّا الدَّهْرُ ۚ وَمَا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ

And they say, "There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time." And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming.

25وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا ائْتُوا بِآبَائِنَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, their argument is only that they say, "Bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful."

26قُلِ اللَّهُ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Say, "Allah causes you to live, then causes you to die; then He will assemble you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt, but most of the people do not know."

27وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَخْسَرُ الْمُبْطِلُونَ

And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And the Day the Hour appears - that Day the falsifiers will lose.

28وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ جَاثِيَةً ۚ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ تُدْعَىٰ إِلَىٰ كِتَابِهَا الْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

And you will see every nation kneeling [from fear]. Every nation will be called to its record [and told], "Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do.
