Interpretation of the Verse:

In this verse, Allah recounts the fate of Pharaoh and his mighty army after they pursued the Children of Israel in arrogance and defiance. Allah says: "So We seized him and his soldiers, and We cast them into the sea, while he was blameworthy."

The meaning is that Allah, in His absolute power, took Pharaoh and all his forces — the very same forces that had terrorized the people of Egypt and enslaved the Children of Israel — and threw them into the sea. They were drowned completely, not a single one survived. The phrase "while he was blameworthy" refers to Pharaoh himself, who had earned every bit of reproach through his persistent disbelief, his false claim to divinity ("I am your lord, most high"), and his wicked, corrupt actions. He died in a state of disgrace, having brought destruction upon himself and his people through his own stubborn arrogance.

This was not a random punishment; it was the natural and just consequence of a tyrant who rejected every sign and miracle shown to him, and who chased after the believers with the intent to annihilate them. Allah's justice prevailed, and the sea became both a salvation for the believers and a grave for the oppressors.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Dear reader, ponder this scene with your heart: the mightiest tyrant of his time, with an army that seemed invincible, was reduced to nothing in a single moment by the command of Allah. No fortress, no army, no wealth could protect him from the decree of the Almighty. This is a timeless lesson for every soul: power and arrogance are fleeting, but the justice of Allah is certain. Do not be deceived by the temporary strength of oppressors, and do not despair when you see falsehood prevailing — for the end belongs to the righteous. Let this story strengthen your faith in Allah's promise, and let it remind you that He is always watching, always capable, and always just. Turn to Him in humility before the sea of His punishment overtakes you, and seek His mercy, for He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority.
But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman."
So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy.
And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind.
It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins.
