- Wa ittaqooh (وَاتَّقُوهُ): Fear Allah and be conscious of Him by obeying His commands and avoiding His prohibitions.
- Tuhsharoon (تُحْشَرُونَ): You will be gathered and assembled together on the Day of Resurrection.
Explanation of the Verse:
In this noble verse, Allah reminds us of the divine commandments that were given to the believers: to establish the prayer in its most complete form — with sincerity, humility, and adherence to its times and conditions — and to maintain consciousness of Allah (taqwa) in every aspect of life. Taqwa means to place a protective barrier between oneself and Allah's displeasure, by fulfilling what He has commanded and abstaining from what He has forbidden.
The verse then directs our hearts toward the ultimate reality: that Allah alone is the One to Whom all of creation will be gathered on the Day of Judgment. This gathering is not merely a physical assembly, but a moment of profound accountability, where every soul will stand before its Lord and be recompensed for its deeds — the good with good, and the evil with evil.
This verse carries a beautiful and powerful message for every believer: our lives are not aimless or without purpose. We have been given clear guidance — to worship Allah through prayer, to live in constant awareness of Him, and to remember that our final destination is before Him. When we internalize this truth, our hearts become attached to what truly matters, and we find peace in knowing that every act of obedience, every moment of patience, and every step of righteousness is witnessed and will be rewarded.
Let this verse be a gentle reminder that the prayer we establish and the taqwa we cultivate are not burdens, but rather keys to tranquility in this life and success in the Hereafter. The One Who commands us is the Most Merciful, and the One to Whom we will return is the Most Just. So let us strive with sincerity, knowing that our efforts are never in vain, and that the meeting with our Lord is the ultimate promise of hope and reward for those who believe and do good.
