- Yawma-idhin (يَوْمَئِذٍ): On that Day — the Day of Judgment.
- Al-Haqq (الْحَقُ): The truth, absolute justice, free from any injustice or error.

- Mawazinuhu (مَوَازِينُهُ): His scales (plural of mizan) — referring to the balance in which deeds are weighed, or the deeds themselves that are weighed.
- Al-Muflihun (الْمُفْلِحُونَ): The successful ones, those who attain salvation and win the ultimate prize.
Tafsir (Explanation):
On that momentous Day, the weighing of deeds will take place with absolute truth and perfect justice. This is not a symbolic metaphor alone — it is a real, tangible scale established by Allah, where no soul will be wronged in the slightest. Every action, no matter how small, will be placed on the balance with precision and fairness.
The one whose scales are heavy with good deeds — due to their faith, sincerity, righteous actions, and adherence to Allah’s commands — will be among the truly successful. They will attain what they hoped for and be saved from what they feared. Their success is not merely worldly or temporary; it is the everlasting triumph of Paradise and Allah’s eternal pleasure.
Conversely, the one whose scales are light — because of disbelief, sin, and neglect of their duties — will face loss and ruin. Therefore, this verse serves as a profound reminder that our true worth is not measured by wealth, status, or worldly achievements, but by the weight of our deeds in Allah’s divine scale.
Da'wah Reflection:
Dear reader, imagine a scale so precise that it captures every breath, every word, every glance, and every intention. This is the scale of Allah — the Most Just, the Most Merciful. He has given you this life as an opportunity to fill your scale with goodness. Every prayer you offer, every kindness you show, every honest transaction, every tear shed in humility before your Lord — all of it adds weight to your scale.
Do not despair over your past sins; rather, race toward good deeds now, for Allah’s mercy is vast and His door of repentance is open until the final hour. Strive to make your scale heavy with faith, love for Allah, and service to humanity. The success of that Day is the only success that truly matters — and it is within your reach, by the grace of Allah, through sincere belief and righteous action. Let this verse awaken in you a beautiful urgency to live a life that pleases your Creator, so that when you stand before Him, your scale will be heavy, and you will be among the triumphant.
