Explanation of the Verse:
O mankind, reflect on the mercy and wisdom of your Lord! It is He alone — no partner with Him — who created the night for you, wrapping the world in a blanket of darkness so that you may find rest, stillness, and peace. In the night, the body recovers from the exhaustion of daily toil, the mind unwinds from its worries, and the soul recharges its energy. It is a time for quiet, for family, for sleep, and for the renewal of strength that enables you to face a new day.
Then, He made the day "mubṣiran" — a time of light and clarity, when the eyes can see, and the world becomes visible for you to move about, seek your livelihood, and fulfill your needs. The day is not merely bright; it is a means of guidance for your affairs, a stage upon which you work, trade, learn, and build your life. Thus, the alternation of night and day — each with its distinct purpose and blessing — is a perfect system that serves your well-being.
Indeed, in this magnificent arrangement of night and day, with their differences in light and darkness, stillness and activity, there are clear signs and undeniable proofs that the Creator of all this is One, All-Wise, and Alone worthy of worship. These signs are not hidden from those who truly listen — not with careless ears, but with hearts open to reflection, minds ready to ponder, and souls willing to accept the truth. Such people see in the rhythm of day and night the hand of a Merciful Lord, and they respond with gratitude, obedience, and love.
So, dear reader, let this verse awaken your heart! Every sunset and every dawn is a living message from your Creator, calling you to recognize His greatness and to draw closer to Him. The One who gave you rest in the night and light in the day is the One who watches over you at all times. Will you not listen to His call and submit to Him with a grateful heart?
